Magnetic Effect of Electric Current Tricks



1. Right Hand Thumb Rule:- 

Imagine you are holding a current carrying straight conductor in your right hand such that the thumb is pointing towards the direction of current. Then the fingers wrapped around the conductor give the direction of magnetic field.

Trick for this rule is.

Imagine that you have kept a current carrying straight conductor in your left hand and keep your thumb on conductor such that the number 4 is formed by your left hand, now fingers points the direction of current and thumb will give the direction of magnetic field.

2. Fleming's left hand Rule:-

 “If the thumb, forefinger, and middle finger are stretched to be perpendicular to each other such that the forefinger is stretched in the direction of the magnetic field, the middle finger is stretched in the direction of the current, then, the thumb represents the direction of the force“.
